We love hearing feedback from our valued clients in the form of surveys, Google and Facebook reviews, and speaking with them during and after the claims process. We interviewed Audra of Riverside, Rhode Island to tell us about her experience using Performance Adjusting as her public adjusting company during a water damage insurance claim she had back in October of 2019.
Audra is a mother of 3, one of which is our Director of Social Media & Marketing, Alexis Pollack. She lives in Connecticut but has a house in Riverside, RI where her son, Dylan lives. She, unfortunately, had a water damage insurance claim last year while she was home in CT. Thankfully, her son and his roommate were there during the loss. They were able to contact Alexis who directed them to call a restoration company, Rhode Island Restoration, and then call us to begin the claims process. Here is her experience!
How did your property damage happen?
I had a contractor redoing my upstairs bathroom and when he put the radiator back in, it wasn’t installed properly. The next thing I knew, I had water coming down through my ceiling fan in my dining room! I had water damage throughout almost my entire home. The walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, it was all ruined.

What was the most surprising thing about your property damage?
The most surprising thing to me was how quickly the damage added up. I was surprised at how far and wide the water damage was. I was so thankful that the restoration company you guys recommended was able to come out so quickly!
What was your experience in the past with property damage insurance claims, if you have any?
This was actually my first property damage insurance claim. I’m thankful that I knew about having a public adjuster on my side the very first time I ever had property damage that required filing a claim.
Do you think that you would have gotten enough money if you did not hire us as your public adjuster?
I’m not sure as I’ve never put in a claim before, but I’m thankful that I knew I was getting the most amount of money possible since I used a public adjuster.
What was the best part about having a public adjuster on your side?
The best part about having a public adjuster was that because I don’t reside in the house or in the state of Rhode Island, it was easy for me to have somebody there immediately to stop the water damage from getting worse and starting the drying process.
What do you think the benefit is about using us as your public adjuster vs a different public adjusting company?
Other than the fact that you were located in the state where my house was damaged, I already knew that you guys were a good/trustworthy company from the things my daughter had said about you.
In the future, will you be using a public adjuster for your property damage insurance claims?
If I get property damage again and need to file a claim, sure! But I hope I don’t have to deal with a claim again any time soon!
What is your advice to a new homeowner?
Get good homeowner’s insurance! Make certain you do all necessary maintenance on your house. Be realistic when buying a home that you will have mandatory expenses each year to maintain the home. If your property is older, understand that those expenses will more than likely be twice what you budgeted.
We are so thankful that Audra had a positive experience with using us as her public adjuster. If you have had a property damage insurance claim recently in the state of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Florida, we would be more than happy to help you through the claims process and get you the highest possible settlement for your claim.
